Chumbi Valley is an upcoming free-to-play blockchain game that features adorable creatures called ‘Chumbi’ living in a forest valley. Chumbi’s can be collected, bought, sold, and bred. It was stated that this game was inspired by Pokemon, Zelda, Stardew Valley, and Studio Ghibli.
Fight alongside them against other Chumbi and other players, get yourself your plot of land, and farm crops to earn an extra income. Together with your Chumbi, you can also explore their mysterious world to uncover the secrets within their valley.
What to expect
Chumbi Valley isn’t expected to be released until the middle of 2022, so there’s no footage of what it’ll look like in-game. But this game reminds me of Axie Infinity, which is also a blockchain play-to-earn game inspired by Pokemon, and they have a similar concept.
While Axie Infinity requires you to buy or at the very least borrow an Axie to begin playing, Chumbi Valley does not. You’ll meet your first Chumbi companion in woodland at the start of your quest. Your newfound companion will fight alongside you and you’ll be able to experience the game firsthand without spending a dime. But note that it cannot be traded as an NFT.
The game will be released on the BSC and Polygon blockchain, and you can then start your journey, explore a variety of biomes, and breed different creatures with different elemental traits.
Play to earn
All in-game items are blockchain-based tokens, also known as NFTs (non-fungible tokens), and can be traded on the marketplace. That said, players will be able to make money in several ways:
Farming
This feature is another term for staking. Players can earn extra income by planting a rare seed to grow crops. But it needs to be watered regularly to make it grow, and its growth rate is blockchain-based time.
Crafting
Explore and gather resources, together with your Chumbi, to craft items that can be sold in the marketplace or to an in-game NPC merchant.
Breeding
Breeding those adorable Chumbi is another way of earning some quick cash, especially if you own rare ones.
Chumbi Lending
The game has a secured system that allows players to lend their Chumbi to other players, and in return, the owner or lender will receive a percentage of the profit made.
In-game Currencies
Now that you have an idea how to make money on this game, let’s get to know the two in-game currencies and see what they’re for:
Chumbi Tokens (CHMB)
CHMB is a governance token, signifying that you are one of the owners of the game, giving you the right to decide its path to take for the future development of the game.
It’s also the game’s main currency, used for buying plots of land, fees for breeding, and market purchases. Moreover, CHMB can also be used for staking, allowing holders to earn passive income when locking up their tokens.
Lucky Stars (LSTS)
LSTS on the other hand is a utility token and will be required for Breeding, leveling, spells, and happiness.
Conclusion
Those adorable collectible creatures, in my opinion, will be a big hit. Who doesn’t like the idea of having an adorable Chumbi to play with? The fact that it is free to play and can be played to earn money makes it even more appealing to the general public.
Because the game hasn’t been released, it’s still subject to changes and improvements. As of now, it appears to be promising. Players will be able to let their imaginations run wild, experiment, discover new combinations, and unlock their full potential.
