Pegaxy or Pegasus Galaxy is an NFT play-to-earn horse racing game. You can collect, breed, sell and even rent cool-looking winged horses called Pegas. They are said to be descendants of the Pegasus, the legendary white horse with wings similar to an angel, from the Greek methodology.
The setting takes place in the future, and instead of having a normal, flesh body, Pegas has futuristic mechanical-looking bodies. And unlike other typical games that require specific skills such as hand and eye coordination, strategies, rankings, and MMR, Pegaxy is a fully automated game. So you’ll just have to sit there, collect, breed, and watch your horse participate and hopefully win a race.
How to Earn on Pegaxy?
In a nutshell, Pegaxy is a glorified horse betting game, except the horses are collectible, valuable, and therefore tradable. And players will be invested in them not just financially but emotionally as well, making it a whole lot more exciting and fun to play! And without further ado, Here’s how to earn on Pegaxy.
Racing
Horse racing is the main concept of this game. You can use your horses to participate in a PVP race against 11 other horses, and if you get lucky and your horse wins, you get to reap the rewards. But be warned that profits are not guaranteed because you’re putting money on the line as well, and your horse needs to take at least the third place for you to earn.
Breeding
Pegas are collectible NFTs, and you can breed them a limited number of times, depending on their rarity. Also, note that Pegas have genders, and obviously, you’d need a male and a female horse to breed them. You can either sell or rent your horses for you to earn some quick bucks.
Renting
If you have multiple horses and can’t find time to race them all, you can rent them out to other players for a certain percentage of the profits. You don’t even have to reach out to anyone. You’ll have to put your horses on display for renting, and players will come to you. No interaction is needed between scholars and managers.
Become a scholar
This is an option for those who don’t own or can’t afford to own a horse for themselves. As mentioned above, scholars can rent horses from managers for a specific price and percentage split of the profit.
Pegas Bloodlines
Pegas are categorized into different rarities and bloodlines with bonuses and other perks. The only advantage that rare Pegas would have are the cooldowns or how often you can race them, how many times you can breed them, and how long until the newly-bred Pegas can partake in a race.
And of course, rare ones are more awesome-looking compared to common ones, which also adds to their value as a collectible NFT on the market. But when it comes to the actual race, rare Pegas are just as good as the common ones.
In-game currencies
Much like Axie Infinity, Pegaxy has two main in-game currencies called PGX and VIS, used for different purposes, and you’ll need both to get started.
- PGX is the governance token representing Pegaxy on the crypto market and the currency needed for renting or selling horses.
- VIS is the utility token, and it’s the same token that you’ll gain or lose when participating in races.
Final Thoughts
This game is quite a unique uptake on the blockchain. More people are starting to get attracted to the crypto space. But please be aware that there are risks involved in this. Pegaxy is no different from gambling, and you’ll need a bit of luck to win. The concept is indeed enticing. Games like these are needed for the crypto space to grow, and we’ll need diversity to cater to people with different demands and preferences.
