Polygonum is an online multiplayer metaverse shooter game built on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) blockchain, making it fully decentralized with an economy governed and controlled by its community.
Players will be able to play and make a living through gameplays and in-game trading items as an NFT.
This is not your typical first-person shooting game. And surprisingly, there are not a lot of shooter-type games on the blockchain. I’ve only seen a few that are worth everyone’s time so far.
So this would be a nice addition to our list of blockchain games that you should look out for.
Important features include:
- Tokenomics (POG and SP tokens)
- Cross-platform experience
- NPC marketplace and NFT marketplace (separate)
- Open-world with three different zones and a Guild system
POG Token
The POG token is Polygonum’s governance token. That means owning one gives you the right to participate and determine that game’s future and development in the blockchain space.
POG token is also the currency for used trading NFT items on the marketplace and can also be staked to get NFTs and item upgrades and enhancements.
Skill Point (SP) Token
SP is Polygonum’s in-game token for essential utilities such as repairs and enhancements for your character’s items. While the POG token is for the NFT marketplace, the SP token can be spent on the NPC marketplace and obtained through mining and NPC quest rewards.
SP tokens can also be used for auto farming and staking for additional rewards.
Cross-platform
Thanks to Unity Engine, Polygonum can be played across different platforms such as PC, mobile, and browser. This allows access to a multitude of players that prefer one platform over the others.
Marketplace
Polygonum has a self-sustaining economy where players can buy and sell in-game items on its NFT and NPC marketplace.
Gameplay
Polygonum is divided into three different zones where players can farm, fight monsters, zombies, and plants (PvE), and compete with other players for resources and loot (PvP.)
Aside from the game’s vast gameplay experience, it also has a Guild system where players can join and battle with other guilds for a more competitive and fun experience.
Conclusion
Polygonum is a solid game based on what I can see. However, some people get turned off by the graphics and visuals of a game alone, and unfortunately, Polygonum lacks in that department. So it’ll be challenging for this game to catch attention from the limited number of audiences in the blockchain space.
But if you look past the game’s visuals, I’m sure that it’ll be a fun experience for players. Because games like these are addictive, and given that it’s a play-to-earn game, It could garner a decent audience and players.
