The inaugural Counter-Strike 2 Major is set to kick off in March at the PGL Copenhagen Major. As is tradition, the premier CS:GO tournament will feature elite teams from around the globe competing for the coveted world champion title.
However, those coveted spots need to be earned first in competitive regional qualifiers. For teams in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, the upcoming PGL Copenhagen Major Asia-Pacific RMR will decide which two rosters secure passage to Denmark.
Summary
- The PGL Copenhagen Major Asia-Pacific RMR will determine which 2 APAC teams qualify for the major
- 8 APAC teams will compete in a double-elimination bracket for the 2 spots
- Teams include Grayhound Gaming, TYLOO, The MongolZ, and others
- The top 2 teams from the RMR will advance to the Major’s Opening Stage
- The APAC RMR starts on Feb. 26th and will be streamed live on Twitch by PGL
At stake in the APAC RMR is more than just Major qualification. APAC squads are seeking to gain more respect internationally and showcase that they can hang with top European and American sides. The compressed double-elimination RMR bracket raises the stakes with every match. Teams like MongolZ and Grayhound Gaming know that CS:GO glory for their region starts with performing when it matters most at events like this RMR.
MongolZ are looking to qualify for their second consecutive Major after breaking through to stockholm last year. The veteran core led by Machinegunner has amassed deep experience over years of competing internationally.
They will be focused on leveraging that poise to survive the unpredictable APAC bracket.
They’ll face stiff competition from across Asia’s emerging CS:GO scene. Chinese squad Lynn Vision made recent roster moves to prepare for this RMR, while Korean Troublemakers earned their spot through the EA Sports ASEAN Championship. Underdog teams like 15 Average Gaming from Thailand rounded out the field, but can’t be overlooked in a volatile region.

Reigning APAC #1 TYLOO and their star AWPer Zac remain favorites to claim one of the two Major spots.
However, defending home turf expectations while navigating the high stakes RMR format presents unique challenges.
Pressure is no problem though for young Australian squad Grayhound Gaming. 18-year old in-game leader DickStacy has already competed at the prior Major and hunger for returning on CS:GO biggest stage continues motivating these players.
All matches will be broadcast live on PGL’s Twitch channel starting February 26th for fans to follow the APAC RMR action. Community streams will also cover the event for different language preferences across Asia. APAC continues to build infrastructure and opportunities for rising squads, but now teams must capitalize to showcase the level of play.
The road to CS:GO glory runs through Denmark for the PGL Copenhagen Major this March. But the journey starts by earning enough points to qualify through these Regional Major Rankings events.
Teams can’t take qualification for granted no matter past successes. For determined Asia-Pacific rosters, the RMR presents both a chance at progress for regional Counter-Strike and entry to the Major itself. Teams like MongolZ and Grayhound have their eyes not just on participating at elite events, but using them to establish APAC firmly on the worldwide map.
