Some have reported being unable to log in or access their conversation history, while others have encountered error messages like “Bad Gateway Error” or observed the chatbot simply freezing without providing any responses.
Interestingly, a few users have reported that ChatGPT seemed to function normally when accessed through incognito or private browsing modes, suggesting that the outage might be primarily affecting logged-in users.
This is not the first time ChatGPT has experienced significant downtime. On May 23rd, 2024, the chatbot faced a major outage that lasted over 8 hours, despite OpenAI maintaining an impressive 99.67% uptime rate over the past 90 days.
As the investigation into the current outage continues, users worldwide eagerly await updates from OpenAI on when they can expect the ChatGPT service to be fully restored.
