Axie Infinity has announced that a balancing patch for Origin’s in-game economy will be released in the coming days. The announcement comes as players continue to explore Origin Season 0, a significant milestone in the game’s rebirth. Axie Infinity also mentions that the balance will include a number of tweaks to cards, Runes & Charms, and other items. Season 0 is the third of four phases that will formally launch Origin.
Balancing Details and Key Developments
Axie Infinity claims that the balancing fix is still in the works. Although users should expect numerous significant improvements, the game wants to implement them in a staggered, more progressive manner. So, what are some of the Season 0 upgrades on the way?
To begin, Axie Infinity has moved all SLP awards to Origin. SLP tokens will no longer be earned by gaming in the original Classic V2 game. SLP prizes, on the other hand, will be confined to PvP Ranked mode in Origin Season 0.
Origin gamers will also be asked to spend SLP money on Runes and Charms. SLP minting is likewise prohibited by Axie Infinity during Season 0. This is done on purpose so that the in-game economy can be monitored and any required balancing actions may be implemented in the coming weeks.
Adjusted Leaderboard Rewards
Season 0 will also include new leaderboard awards. Axie Infinity initially offered a leaderboard reward pool of 49,157 AXS tokens to be given to 10,000 players. The prize pool, on the other hand, will improve greatly as a result of this upgrade.
Players will now compete for a prize basket worth 60,708 AXS tokens, which will be distributed to 20,000 participants. At the end of the season, the top player will win 600 AXS, while the second-placed player will receive 480 AXS. All players in the top 20 will get more than 150 AXS.
NFT Runes and Charms Launched
Runes and Charms were introduced as early as the beginning of Origin. These Axie upgrades did not exist in the Classic V2 game. However, despite the fact that Runes and Charms are important in the game, they are not supported by NFTs.
Season 0 of Axie Infinity is altering this. All Runes and Charms will now be backed by an ERC-1155 token, thus changing them into NFTs. Players will also be able to sell their Runes and Charms on the Axie Infinity Marketplace during Season 0.
Axie Infinity has also made adjustments to the creation of Runes and Charms. To begin, players will require SLP tokens in order to build these NFTs. Furthermore, the NFTs can only be minted on the blockchain, which will incur a tiny minting cost.
The minting charge will be around $3, however it will be paid through AXS. Please keep in mind that the minting cost will apply to all Runes and Charms, even those that existed before to this update.
Furthermore, while Axie Infinity is currently attempting to balance the economy, the P2E game is adopting a more conservative approach to minting Runes and Charms. Season 0 will only have Minting accessible for seven days. This will give the game enough time to examine its influence on the economy and determine whether more improvements are required.
More Crafting Changes in Season 0
Season 0 will also include new crafting recipes in order to provide more variation for gamers. There will be some modest tweaks to the usability of crafted goods as well. However, the specifics of these adjustments have yet to be revealed.
Axie Infinity will also restrict the creation of some utility items. This is expected to have an impact on moonstones and moon dusts. Nonetheless, Season 0 will see some of the most drastic changes to crafting.
Updates on Moon Shard Rewards
As previously mentioned, Axie Infinity is modifying the usefulness of produced goods in the blockchain game. We’ve also learned that several adjustments to how Moon Shards are obtained and utilised will be implemented in Season 0. Utility items will now be gained through gameplay rather than being created in the future.
The idea here is to encourage players to progress through the game’s levels and stay engaged. Axie Infinity is also boosting the number of Moon Shards awarded for Ranked PvP arena victories.
The play-to-earn game is also planning irregular freebies of utilitarian goods. This will be accomplished through first-time rank-up prizes.
Other Exciting Updates
Season 0 will also include new stickers for users to display as part of their in-game collection. There will be two sorts of stickers available. The first will go to players who reach the “Chick” level this season.
The second sticker will be given to any player that finishes in the top 20,000. Matchmaking and victory stars are also changing in Axie Infinity. To begin, the matching logic has been modified, however the specifics of how it will operate in the future are uncertain.
Users will also receive a 10x multiplier on all earned victory stars during Season 0. This is done on purpose to make transitioning inside the ELO rating system easier.
Axie Infinity has also said that profits balancing should be expected during Season 0. However, the game has said that it would not make balance choices throughout the season unless absolutely required.
Axie Infinity Origin Getting Closer
The release of Season 0 is a significant step forward in the continuing effort to revive Axie Infinity. Season 0 is, in reality, the penultimate stage before the P2E game’s formal global debut. Even amid a crypto downturn market, Axie Infinity Origin has managed to draw some interest.
Despite the fact that we have not seen the most recent statistics, Dapp Radar reported in June that over 600,000 individuals had already joined up. Axie Infinity is still tweaking the game and its economics in order to provide a more sustainable experience.
Origin’s global premiere will coincide with the official start of Season 1. While no exact date has been specified, we are now closer than ever.
